PCN commences accreditation process for Kano DMCSA
The Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN), Kano Office, has carried out a preliminary inspection visit to the Kano State Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency (DMCSA).
The State Officer in charge of the PCN Kano Office, Pharmacist Hasiya Abubakar Ladan, who led the inspection team, stated that the visit marked the beginning of the accreditation process for DMCSA to become a mega drug distribution hub and an internship training centre.
According to pharmacist Ladan, the inspection served as a preliminary step ahead of a more comprehensive evaluation by a technical team from the PCN national headquarters in Abuja.
She further explained that the visit aimed to assess DMCSA’s compliance with regulatory requirements in preparation for the issuance of a premises registration certificate.
Pharmacist Ladan commended the leadership of DMCSA for its effective management and expressed satisfaction with the agency’s level of compliance.
The Director General of DMCSA, Pharmacist Gali Sule, received the delegation and led them on a tour of the warehouses and facilities.
He disclosed that the agency had suspended drug production to upgrade its Drug Manufacturing Unit, in line with recommendations from the PCN and NAFDAC.

Pharmacist Sule expressed gratitude to the delegation for their visit and assured them of DMCSA’s full cooperation throughout the accreditation process.
