Ministry of labour official gets N20m bail for alleged N800,000 job racketeering

An official of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Mr Takat Williams Sabo, arraigned by Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), has been granted bail of N20 million over alleged N800,000 job racketeering.
Director Public Enlightenment and Education for the Commission, Demola Bakare In a statement explained that Mr Sabo was charged before Justice S. M. Mayana of the FCT High Court in Abuja for defrauding a job seeker of ₦800,000 under false pretenses.
The defendant pleaded not guilty, and his lawyer requested bail, which the judge granted at ₦20 million with two sureties.
The ICPC did not oppose the bail but asked for strict conditions to ensure Mr Sabo attends his trial.
Justice Mayana adjourned the case to 10th April, 2025, for trial.
