FCTDecides2026: Wike inspects Polling Units, assures transparent process
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Saturday commenced monitoring of the ongoing FCT Area Council elections at Lagos Crescent, Garki 2, where he urged traders and residents to comply strictly with electoral guidelines to guarantee a hitch-free exercise.
Addressing stakeholders in the area, Wike emphasised the importance of orderliness and full adherence to directives issued for the conduct of the polls, noting that cooperation from residents and business owners was crucial to the success of the electoral process.
The minister subsequently toured other polling units across Abuja to assess the level of preparedness and compliance with movement restrictions and other regulations put in place for the elections.
He called on residents to come out in large numbers to exercise their civic responsibility, assuring them of adequate security and a transparent process throughout the exercise.
