Brahim Diaz delivered a moment of brilliance to seal Real Madrid’s 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

The match, held at the Santiago Bernabeu, was a tense Madrid derby filled with drama.

Rodrygo opened the scoring for Real Madrid just four minutes in, but Julian Alvarez equalized for Atletico with a stunning strike in the 32nd minute.

The decisive moment came in the 63rd minute when Diaz weaved past defenders and curled a low shot into the far corner, giving Real a narrow advantage heading into the second leg.

Elsewhere in the Champions League, Arsenal thrashed PSV Eindhoven 7-1, Aston Villa triumphed 3-1 at Club Brugge, and Borussia Dortmund drew 1-1 with Lille
