Troops apprehend 16 Oil thieves in Rivers State, recover 24,000 Litres of stolen Oil
In a recent operation in Rivers State, troops apprehended 16 suspected oil thieves and recovered 24,000 litres of stolen petroleum products.
The operation, aimed at combating illegal oil activities in the region, disrupted illicit refining sites and prevented further theft of crude oil.
Authorities have urged residents and businesses to remain vigilant and avoid areas prone to such illegal activities.
This crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to curb oil theft and protect Nigeria’s critical resources.
The operations which lasted between 24th of February through 2nd of March ,2025 also saw the destruction of 14 illegal refining sites by the gallant soldiers.
Speaking to newsmen in port Harcourt on the recent onslaught against the oil Thieves the spokesman of the 6 division Nigerian army, lieutenant colonel Danjuma Jonah said 24,000 litres of stolen products were also recovered.
The operations according to the army spokesman took place in Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta and Akwa Ibom states .

Meanwhile,the general officer commanding 6 division Nigerian army, major general Eric Emekah assured that his men are battle ready to rid the Niger Delta region of illegal oil business.
