Lewis Hamilton secures historic First Ferrari victory in Chinese GP Sprint race

Lewis Hamilton claimed his first victory for Ferrari in the sprint race at the Chinese Grand Prix on March 22, 2025.
In only his second race with the team, Hamilton dominated from pole position, fending off challenges from Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri.
This marked not only Hamilton’s first win for Ferrari but also Ferrari’s first-ever sprint race victory since the format’s introduction in 2021.
The seven-time world champion showcased excellent tire management and control throughout the 19-lap race, finishing over seven seconds ahead of Piastri, who overtook Verstappen late in the race for second place
Verstappen quickly fell behind Hamilton, with McLaren’s Oscar Piastri closing in. Piastri overtook Verstappen with just five laps remaining, securing second place.
Hamilton’s victory was a remarkable turnaround following a disappointing debut for Ferrari at the season’s opening race in Australia last weekend where he qualified eighth and finished tenth, far from the podium.
