The Niger State Police Command has reported success in its efforts to combat criminal activities, recovering a stolen vehicle from Abuja within the state.
The spokesman of the police, Superintendent Wasi’u Abiodun, said on March 23 at about 3pm, information was received that, on March 21 at about 11pm, a driver of a vehicle parked at the Kubwa area reported that upon his return, he discovered that the vehicle was stolen.
In the course of the investigation, the vehicle was tracked to a location along Dikko-Maje road.
The Police patrol team attached to the Maje Division moved to the location, and the vehicle was recovered from where it was abandoned.
Similarly, 2 suspects 18-year-old Mohammed Usman, also known as Small and 22-year-old Mohammed Abdullahi, also known as Kola, have been arrested by the crack squad of the command for conspiracy, theft of motorcycles and receipt of stolen property.
It was reported that on 28th March 2025 at about 5pm, the said Usman boarded a motorcycle to a hotel around Tunga by Old City-gate, and after dropping, he invited the cyclist to his hotel room while he tricked the cyclist, took his motorcycle key and locked him in the room.
It was gathered that Usman made away with the motorcycle with the key and took it to Abdullahi in Paiko for sale.
In the course of the investigation, Police detectives swung into action and arrested Abdullahi, who has a pending case of criminal force and assault over a gang fight at a mining site in Paiko.
Abdullahi led Police operatives to a mining site in Paiko, where Usman was waiting for him to collect the proceeds of the crime, and he was arrested, too.

Usman also confessed to the crime and stated that he stole one of the motorcycles from Obajana, Kogi State at a mining site early last month.
