Nigerian artist approves solar-powered borehole for Yala community

Award-winning Nigerian street artist and CEO of Jaytech Group, Amb. Christopher Christopher Ogar Ogar (also known as Jaymoni), has approved the installation of a solar-powered borehole for the Ochochi community in Okpoma, Yala Local Government Area, Cross River State.
Jaymoni, who co-owns the Wayward brand, made the decision after listening to Amb Dr. Michael Sunday Emaluji (also known as Ochochi 001), who shared the struggles of the local people with him. The borehole project will cost around N15 million and is expected to begin soon, once the Ochochi community leaders provide the location.
Speaking about the project, Jaymoni said, “If charity begins at home, we must help ease the suffering of our people. After hearing from my elder brother and mentor, Amb Dr. Emaluji, I have approved the construction of a solar-powered borehole in Ochochi. Access to water has been a long-standing issue for our people, and this small gesture is meant to help alleviate their struggles.”
He continued, “Times are tough, and many are facing hardships. We’ve been doing what we can to support people, and we’re grateful for the guidance we’ve received. Let’s all come together to build a healthier community and society where we can all thrive.”
Mr Emmanuel Ekwo, Jaymoni’s manager, also reiterated the company’s commitment to supporting local communities and complementing government efforts.
Amb Dr. Emaluji expressed his gratitude to Jaymoni on behalf of the Ochochi people, thanking him for his generosity and quick action. He also promised that the project would be completed to a high standard.
It’s worth noting that Jaymoni was recently honoured with the African Entertainment Humanitarian Award at the African Legendary Awards 2025 in Abuja on April 5. He has been involved in various charitable initiatives in Lagos, Ogun, and Cross River States, making a positive impact on many lives.
