Chelsea to honour Liverpool with Guard of Honour on Sunday
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that his team will form a guard of honour for newly crowned Premier League champions Liverpool when both sides meet on Sunday.
Maresca acknowledged the importance of Liverpool’s title-winning achievement, describing the gesture as a tradition that commands respect. He said it would serve as a moment of reflection for his players, who continue to strive towards similar success.
For much of the season, Chelsea had been Liverpool’s closest challengers in the title race. However, their campaign faltered following costly defeats to Fulham and Ipswich during the Christmas period.
Speaking ahead of the highly anticipated fixture, Maresca reaffirmed his ambition to one day lead Chelsea to Premier League glory.
