FG reaffirms commitment to administrative excellence in Civil Service

The Federal Government has restated its unwavering commitment to promoting administrative excellence and enhancing result-oriented service delivery across the Federal Civil Service, in line with the ongoing implementation of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021–2025 (FCSSIP 2021–2025).

This assurance was given by the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Dr Nnamdi Maurice Mbaeri, during a three-day training workshop held in Abuja. The workshop, themed Administrative Excellence Through Ethics, Discretion and Result-Driven Service, brought together civil servants for intensive capacity-building sessions aimed at equipping them with the requisite skills to thrive in the evolving work environment.

Dr Mbaeri emphasised that the training was designed to align with the FCSSIP’s strategic pillars, particularly those focused on performance management. “The FCSSIP 2021–2025 is a strategic framework driving innovation in the Federal Civil Service. This workshop seeks to further operationalise these strategies by sharpening the skills of civil servants and encouraging them to deliver optimal performance in their respective roles,” he stated.

He encouraged participants to take full advantage of the expertise of the resource persons, noting that adopting a results-driven approach grounded in ethics and excellence is critical for effective public service delivery.

Speaking during the session, the Principal Consultant and Managing Director of XEM Group, Dr Eugenia Ndukwe, reiterated the importance of professionalism and integrity in public administration. She noted that the programme had been deliberately structured to enable civil servants to navigate contemporary administrative challenges with purpose and competence.

“The training programme has been thoughtfully curated to empower you with the knowledge, tools, and ethical grounding to excel in your role. Our goal is to help you navigate the challenges of modern administrative work with clarity, professionalism and purpose,” Dr Ndukwe said.

The workshop is one of several capacity-building initiatives being championed by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation to strengthen public sector effectiveness and responsiveness to national development goals.
