Eid-ul-Adha: SGF encourages reflection, renewed patriotism

Th0e Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, CON, has extended warm greetings to Nigerians, particularly the Muslim faithful, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, calling for deep reflection and renewed commitment to national development.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Director, Information & Public Relations, Mr Segun Imohiosen, the SGF described the 2025 Eid-ul-Adha celebration as especially significant, as it coincides with the second anniversary of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, a period he said represents a milestone in Nigeria’s democratic journey.
Senator Akume urged Nigerians to draw inspiration from the life of Prophet Ibrahim, whose legacy epitomises unwavering faith, sacrifice, obedience, and complete reliance on the will of Allah.
“As we mark this sacred festival, let us reflect deeply on the virtues of peace, unity, compassion, and patriotism,” he stated.
The SGF reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to delivering on its promises, noting that President Tinubu’s administration remains focused on ensuring that the sacrifices made by citizens translate into visible and meaningful improvements in their lives.
He emphasised that the government is pursuing sustained reforms aimed at fostering inclusive economic growth, good governance, and enhanced national security.
Speaking on behalf of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), Senator Akume extended heartfelt wishes to Nigerians both at home and abroad for a peaceful, joyous, and spiritually uplifting Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
