Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhães pens new contract until 2029

Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães has officially signed a new long-term contract with the club, extending his stay at the Emirates Stadium until 2029.
The Brazilian centre-back, whose previous deal was set to run until 2027, has been rewarded with improved terms following his impressive performances and growing role in Mikel Arteta’s squad.
Gabriel, who joined Arsenal from French side Lille in 2020 for £27 million, has so far made 210 appearances for the Gunners across all competitions. The 27-year-old has built a strong defensive partnership with William Saliba since 2022, becoming a key part of the club’s recent title challenges.
Renowned for his aerial dominance and threat at set-pieces, Gabriel was notably absent during the final stretch of the 2024–25 campaign after picking up a hamstring injury.
The new deal signals Arsenal’s intent to keep their core players intact as they continue to push for major honours under Arteta’s leadership.
