Police extend grace period for Tinted Glass Permit enforcement to August 12
The Nigeria Police Force has officially extended the grace period for the enforcement of the Tinted Glass Permit requirement to August 12, 2025.
This decision, approved by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, follows widespread public concerns over the reactivation of the digital application process. The Force, in a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, acknowledged feedback from Nigerians and assured that it remains committed to delivering citizen-focused and transparent policing.
The extension is aimed at allowing the police time to further refine and simplify the application procedure, ensuring no applicant is unduly inconvenienced. Enhancements to both the physical and digital application platforms are underway, including improved verification measures and streamlined processing to eliminate delays and unauthorized charges.
The public is reminded that the only approved portal for obtaining and renewing the permit is www.possap.gov.ng, and are urged to report any cases of extortion or hidden charges via the dedicated hotline 09169967000.
The Nigeria Police Force reassured citizens of its commitment to public safety, digital innovation, and continued improvement in service delivery.
