Pastor Paul Adefarasin submits self to Police over viral video

Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church, Paul Adefarasin, has presented himself to the Lagos State Police Command after a viral video surfaced allegedly showing him holding a firearm during an exchange with a content creator in Lagos.
This development was confirmed by the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a WhatsApp message to journalists on Monday.
Recall that a video circulated online last week capturing the popular cleric with a metallic object while conversing with a passerby recording the incident. The footage stirred controversy on social media, with many claiming the object was a firearm.
In response to the speculation, Pastor Adefarasin, via his social media handles, clarified to his followers that the circulating claims were based on a misunderstanding. He maintained that the object in question was not a gun and stressed that it was never pointed at anyone.
Providing an update, CSP Hundeyin stated, “No one is above the law! Pastor Paul Adefarasin has turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, and is currently being interrogated by detectives. They have commenced an investigation into the case following the emergence of a video showing the pastor holding a gun-like object toward another road user while driving in an unregistered vehicle.”
He assured the public that the outcome of the investigation would be made public once concluded.
