The late President Buhari, who ruled Nigeria as a military Head of State between 1983 and 1985 and later as a democratically elected president from 2015 to 2023, died at the age of 82 after a brief illness.
His burial is scheduled to take place in accordance with Islamic rites, with prayers expected to be held at the Central Mosque in Daura before his remains are laid to rest in his hometown.
The turnout of prominent figures and dignitaries reflects the significant place Buhari held in Nigeria’s political and national history.
