Akwa Ibom Government begins Third Tranche Payment of 7.5% Contributory Pension

The Akwa Ibom State Government has announced the commencement of the third tranche payment of the outstanding 7.5% Contributory Pension to beneficiaries from three Local Education Authorities (LEAs). The payment exercise is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 28, 2025.
According to a Public Service Announcement dated April 25, 2025, and signed by the Head of Civil Service, Elder Effiong Essien, the affected LEAs for this phase include Itu, Eket, and Abak.
Beneficiaries from Itu Local Education Authority are expected to report at Government School, Mbak Atai, Itu, while those from Eket LEA will be screened at Government Secondary School, Afaha Eket, Eket Local Government Area, starting from 9:00 a.m. Beneficiaries from Abak LEA are to report at Bishop Clark Central School, Abak, at the same time.
In a related development, the government also directed Next-of-Kin of deceased pensioners from Ikot Ekpene, Etinan, Ibiono Ibom, Ika, Mkpat Enin, and Okobo LEAs to appear for final clearance and refund of entitlements due to their deceased relatives.
This exercise will take place on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Akpan Isemin Hall, Government House, Uyo, by 10:00 a.m.
Next-of-Kins are required to present service documents of the deceased, a Letter of Administration, and other valid identification at the venue.
The announcement further advised beneficiaries from other Local Education Authorities not listed in this phase to remain patient as their turn will be communicated in due course.
