Anambra Election: Police launch raids on identified trouble shots
Ahead of the November 8 governorship election in Anambra State, the Nigeria Police Force has begun a series of coordinated raids on suspected trouble spots across the state to prevent violence and ensure a peaceful poll.
The state Commissioner of Police, Aderemi Adeoye, said the operation targets areas known for political thuggery, cult activities, and possession of illegal firearms.
He explained that the move is part of broader security measures to guarantee voter safety and maintain order before, during, and after the election.
Adeoye assured residents that the police would act professionally and warned anyone planning to disrupt the process to steer clear of the state.
Security agencies, including the Army, NSCDC, and DSS, are also part of the joint operation ahead of the election.
