BREAKING: Again, National grid collapses, triggers nationwide blackout
Nigeria experienced another nationwide blackout on Tuesday morning following the collapse of the national electricity grid.
Data obtained by Very Nigerian from the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) showed that power supply to the 11 electricity distribution companies dropped to zero megawatts by 11am on Tuesday.
The sudden loss of load allocation led to power outages across the country, affecting homes, businesses and essential services.
As of the time of filing this report, electricity authorities were yet to issue an official statement on the cause of the grid failure or when supply would be fully restored.
