BREAKING: APC’s Daniel Nuhu clinches Kwali chairmanship
Daniel Nuhu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged winner of the Kwali Area Council chairmanship election, polling 17,032 votes.
Nuhu defeated Haruna Pai of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who secured 8,575 votes to place second in the contest.
The results were announced on Sunday morning by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the final collation centre in Kwali. Elections were conducted across all ten wards of the area council on Saturday.
With the Kwali victory, the APC has now secured three of the four area councils declared so far in the Federal Capital Territory polls. The party earlier clinched victories in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) and Bwari, while the PDP won in Gwagwalada.
Further details are expected as INEC concludes announcements in the remaining councils.
