BREAKING: Court stops Pat Utomi, Associates from forming shadow government

The Federal High Court in Abuja has stopped Professor Pat Utomi and his associates from going ahead with their plan to establish a shadow government in Nigeria.
Justice James Omotosho delivered the ruling on Monday following a suit filed by the Department of State Services (DSS).
The judge declared the idea of a shadow government or cabinet unconstitutional and alien to Nigeria’s presidential system. He emphasised that although citizens have the right to association and to criticise government policies, such rights cannot serve as a cover for unlawful activities.
Justice Omotosho further commended the DSS for approaching the court, stressing that the agency has the constitutional responsibility to prevent any act that could threaten Nigeria’s internal security.
