BREAKING: Revered Islamic Scholar Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi passes away
Renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi has passed away after a prolonged illness.
News of his death emerged early Thursday morning and was confirmed by Bashir Ahmad, a former aide to the late President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a post on X, Ahmad wrote, “It is with a heavy heart and complete submission to the will of Allah (SAW) that we receive the news of the passing of our revered leader, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, one of the leaders of the Tijjaniyya order in Nigeria.” He prayed for the deceased, adding, “May Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his noble deeds and grant him Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen.”
The scholar’s son, Sayyadi Ali Dahiru Usman Bauchi, also confirmed the death to Daily Trust, saying, “It is confirmed. Sheikh has returned to his creator. We are all from Allah and to Him we shall all return. It is time for Sheikh to rest… Sheikh’s life was well spent. Alhamdulillah.” He added that he was currently in Madinah and could not confirm where his father would be buried, though it might be in Abuja or Bauchi.
Reports indicate that the family and the Bauchi State Government have yet to release an official statement regarding funeral arrangements.
