Chief Jude Ezenwafor clinches PDP Ticket for Anambra 2025 Governorship Election
Chief Jude Ezenwafor, an Abuja-based real estate developer, has been declared the official candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the upcoming Anambra State governorship election scheduled for November 8, 2025.
Ezenwafor emerged unopposed in the PDP primary election held on Tuesday at the Prof Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre in Awka. He was the only aspirant to purchase and submit the party’s nomination form.
The exercise was conducted under the supervision of Col. Chijioke Onwubuya (rtd), who chaired the PDP national committee in charge of the governorship primary. He declared Ezenwafor the winner following a transparent voting process.
A total of 853 delegates participated in the primary, including 839 delegates elected from the 21 local government chapters of the party across the state, and 14 national delegates. Although Ezenwafor was the sole contender, each delegate was issued a ballot paper and asked to write his name as their choice of candidate.
The national delegates cast their votes first, followed by the local government delegates, in a show of democratic procedure aimed at affirming Ezenwafor’s candidacy.
With his emergence, the PDP has taken a major step in preparing for the November polls as it seeks to regain political control in Anambra State.
