Flamingos head to Morocco as Flying Eagles eye redemption
Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, will leave the country on October 8 for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco, scheduled to hold from October 17 to November 8.
The team has enjoyed a perfect preparation in camp, winning all eight friendly matches without conceding a goal while scoring 26 times, a run that has boosted their confidence ahead of the competition. The Flamingos are placed in Group D alongside Canada, France, and Samoa.
Meanwhile, the Flying Eagles will seek redemption at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile when they take on Saudi Arabia in their second group game on Thursday midnight, after losing their opening match to Norway. A win would strengthen their chances of reaching the Round of 16 before facing Colombia in their final group fixture on Sunday.
