FRSC redeploys senior officers nationwide to boost service delivery
The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has approved the redeployment of senior officers across the country in a sweeping exercise aimed at strengthening operations and improving service delivery.
The postings, announced at the Corps’ headquarters in Abuja, affect a new Corps Secretary, four Assistant Corps Marshals (ACM) with strategic portfolios, several Sector Commanders, and 61 other Corps Commanders in key formations nationwide.
At the national headquarters, ACM G. Ntukidem, formerly ACM Personnel, has been appointed as the new Corps Secretary. ACM J.W. Toby has been redeployed from Policy Research and Statistics to serve as Zonal Commanding Officer, RS11HQ Osogbo, while ACM I. Abubakar moves from the same Osogbo command to replace Toby as ACM (Policy).
In other changes, ACM A.M. Hassan leaves the Department of Training, where he headed Manpower Development, to now lead the Technical Service Department. Meanwhile, ACM A. Sanusi, who recently completed a course at the National Defence College, resumes as ACM Manpower Development in the Training Department.
The reshuffle also touched several state commands. CC S.O. Ayodele retains his position in Benue, while CC J.N. Alexander has been moved from Anambra to Delta State. CC N.I. Ezeoma remains in Abia, with CC Y.T. Etuku transferred from Kebbi to Kogi. CC B. Asekhauno takes over Anambra, CC R.M.Z. Abubakar assumes command in Kebbi, CC D.B. Apaji has been posted to Bauchi, and CC A.P. Longkam is redeployed to Yobe.
Beyond these appointments, 61 other Corps Commanders have been reassigned to critical formations across the FRSC, including its Academy, Zonal Commands, and special units. The postings cut across core areas such as operations, policy, administration, logistics, training, data management, research, establishment, and medical services.
Corps Marshal Mohammed said the exercise was designed to “reinvigorate the operations of the Corps” and ensure greater efficiency in its mandate of promoting road safety and full compliance with traffic regulations.
He urged the newly appointed officers to justify the confidence placed in them, while appealing to motorists and the public to cooperate with the officers to sustain efforts towards safer roads across the country.
