Gov Bago honours victims of WWII Siege at Russian Memorial Cemetery
Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State, Nigeria, has paid a solemn tribute at the Piskaryovskoye Memorial Cemetery in Saint Petersburg, Russia, in memory of the hundreds of thousands who lost their lives during the 900-day Siege of Leningrad in World War II.
During the emotional visit, Governor Bago laid a wreath and offered prayers for the victims, reflecting on the sacrifices made by both soldiers and civilians during one of history’s darkest chapters.
His visit was a gesture of solidarity with the Russian people, underlining the shared global values of peace, resilience, and remembrance.
