Gov Bago leads delegation to turbaning ceremony of Niger speaker Abdulmalik Sarkindaji

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, popularly known as the “Farmer Governor,” led a state delegation to the turbaning ceremony of the Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Abdulmalik Sarkindaji, who was conferred with the title of Dokajin Borgu, alongside other honourees.

The event, held at the Emir of Borgu’s Palace in New Bussa, was part of activities marking the 10th anniversary of the Emir, Dr. Mohammed Sani Haliru Dantoro Kitoro IV, on the throne.

Dignitaries present included the Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, who led the federal government delegation; Senator Abubakar Sani Bello, representing Niger North; members of the House of Representatives; APC National Vice Chairman (North Central), Alhaji Muazu Bawa; Niger State APC Chairman, Alhaji Aminu Musa Bobi; and several political and traditional leaders.

Others also honoured during the ceremony were retired Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration, Ahmed Tijani Mohammed, and Engineer Iliyasu Abdullahi Wara, Director of Operations, NHYPPADEC, who were turbaned as Ubandawakin Borgu and District Head of Lumma, respectively.

Governor Bago joined other worshippers in special prayers for the Emir’s continued success, as well as for peace and prosperity in Borgu Kingdom, Niger State, and Nigeria.

He also commissioned two classroom blocks built by the Mohammed Sani Haliru Dantoro Foundation, commending the Emir for his consistent contributions to the development of the Borgu Emirate.

Governor Bago reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the Emir and enhancing service delivery to the people of Borgu and the entire state.
