IGP orders massive redeployment of senior Police officers nationwide to boost efficiency

The Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Disu, has approved the redeployment of several senior officers to key positions across the Nigeria Police Force in a move aimed at improving efficiency, strengthening leadership, and enhancing service delivery nationwide.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Okon Placid, who noted that the postings are part of efforts to maintain a strong command structure and ensure proper distribution of personnel across Commands, Formations, and Departments.

According to the statement, the redeployment affected several Assistant Inspectors-General of Police, including AIG Ado Emmanuel, who was posted to Research and Planning at the Force Headquarters in Abuja; AIG Joseph Eribo to the Department of Armament; AIG Miller Dantawaye to the Department of Operations; and AIG Henry Ifeanyi Uche to the Department of Training and Development.

Others include AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, now posted to Zone 2 in Lagos; AIG Simeon U. Akpanudom to the FCID Annex in Lagos; AIG Haruna Olufemi to the Special Protection Unit at the Force Headquarters; AIG Olanrewaju Peter Ogunlowo to Police Accounts and Budget; and AIG Dahiru Mohammed to Zone 15 in Maiduguri.

The postings also saw AIG Dankombo Morris deployed to Zone 4 in Makurdi; AIG Bello Shehu to Zone 14 in Katsina; AIG Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba to the Department of Legal Services; and AIG Ahmed Musa to Community Policing, all at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

In the same vein, several Commissioners of Police were assigned to new roles, with CP Haruna Alaba Yahaya posted to Jigawa State Command; CP Betty Enekpen Otimenyin to Welfare at the Force Headquarters; CP Olugbenga Ayodeji Abimbola to Oyo State Command; CP Yemi John Oyeniyi to Delta State Command; CP Olubode Ojajuni to Ogun State Command; CP Michael Adegoroye Falade to Ekiti State Command; and CP Yakubu Useni Dankaro to Adamawa State Command.

Other postings include CP Aina Adesola to the Training Department at the Force Headquarters; CP Muhammed Sanusi Ahmed to the Federal Capital Territory Command; CP Olatunji Olaiwola Fatai to Lagos State Command; CP Morkwap S. Dongshal to Taraba State Command; CP Ahmed Mohammed Bello to Zamfara State Command; CP Umar Ali Fagge to Katsina State Command; and CP Hayatu Shaffa Hassan to Sokoto State Command.

Further deployments saw CP Akan Ezima appointed as Director of the NPF-NCCC in Abuja; CP Abbas Sule to the Special Protection Unit; CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue to INTERPOL, Abuja; CP Mnwadiogbu Cletus as Deputy Commandant of POLAC; CP Danjuma I. Yahaya to General Investigation at FCID Annex in Kaduna; CP Sheik M. Danko to FCID Annex in Lagos; and CP Moses Ashu Otta to SWAT in Abuja.

Additional postings include CP Abdulrahim A. Shuaibu to the Eastern Ports Authority; CP Sarah Ehindero to Administration at FCID Abuja; CP Edwin Ogbegbghagha as Provost at the Force Headquarters; CP Preye R. Egbe to INEC, Abuja; CP Adebisi Bola Lateef to Master Printing in Lagos; CP Bolou O. Etete to Community Policing under Research and Planning; and CP Ojugbele E. Adebola to General Investigation at FCID Alagbon in Lagos.

Also affected are CP Fidelis N. Ogarabe, now at INTERPOL Annex Lagos; CP Theodore C. Obasi as Deputy Commandant of the Police College in Ikeja; CP Eloho E. Okpoziakpo to the Special Fraud Unit in Ikoyi; CP Kayode Uthman Magaji to K9 at Dei-Dei under the Department of Operations; CP Markus Ishaku Basiran to Courses at POLAC; CP Mohammed Babakura to Administration in the Department of Operations; CP Silas Bamidele Aremu to Safer Highway; CP Magaji Ismaila to Community Safety and Crime Prevention; and CP Rebecca Uchenna Okereke as Director of Music at the Force Headquarters.

The Inspector-General of Police charged the officers to apply their experience in their new roles and maintain high standards of professionalism, discipline, and dedication in carrying out their duties.
