Jigawa state Invests ₦1.5 Billion in New farm mechanization service company
In a significant move to bolster agricultural productivity, the Jigawa State Executive Council has sanctioned over ₦1.5 billion for the launch of the Jigawa Farm Mechanization Service Company.
This initiative aims to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness across the state’s agricultural value chains.
State Commissioner of Information, Youths, Sports, and Culture, Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed, disclosed this development following a recent council meeting in Dutse.
He highlighted that an additional ₦969 million has been approved to cover customs duties and taxes for agricultural equipment and spare parts procured from China, further supporting the company’s operations.
In another strategic decision, the council reviewed a draft bill proposing the establishment of the Jigawa State Flood Disaster Trust Fund.
This fund underscores Governor Umar Namadi’s commitment to implementing long-term solutions to the state’s recurrent flood challenges.
The council has approved the bill and forwarded it to the State House of Assembly for consideration.
