Julius Berger, Subsidiaries shine at Big 5, Ecobank Expos

Nigeria’s foremost engineering and construction giant, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, alongside its subsidiaries, made a strong impression at the recently concluded Big 5 and Ecobank Design and Build Expositions in Lagos, showcasing innovation, craftsmanship, and an extensive portfolio of services.
The Big 5 event was held at the Landmark Events Centre, while the Ecobank Expo took place at the Ecobank Pan-African Centre. Julius Berger subsidiaries – ABUMET (aluminium and glass solutions), PrimeTech Nigeria Ltd (design and engineering), Julius Berger Precast Services, and the company’s Excellence Centre – all featured prominently, unveiling new innovations and upgraded solutions.
From cutting-edge architectural designs to premium aluminium systems and advanced precast solutions, each subsidiary reflected the group’s commitment to quality, sustainability, and technological advancement.
Aleksandar Serafimoski, Facility Manager at Julius Berger’s Excellence Centre, said the exhibition offered an invaluable networking opportunity:
“This is our second appearance at the Expo, and interest in our portfolio has been encouraging. Most of the enquiries have come from companies seeking partnerships rather than individual clients. Above all, the platform has provided visibility within the industry.”
Christian Bauer, Commercial Manager of Julius Berger Precast Services, explained that the company is diversifying its product line:
“We are showcasing smaller-scale items such as blocks and pavements, alongside large-scale precast products like pipes and U-channels. This demonstrates our ability to serve multiple segments of the market.”
For PrimeTech Nigeria Ltd, the event was an avenue to reconnect with past clients while attracting new prospects. Head of the Architecture Department, Joseph Abba, highlighted interest from the oil and gas sector and stakeholders keen on sustainable design.
“Many visitors are surprised to learn of our affiliation with Julius Berger. The Expo has given us added exposure and opened conversations on potential collaborations,” he said.
Sales Manager Daniel Oladejo noted that the exhibition underscored Julius Berger’s versatility:
“Big 5 has been a very effective platform to show that we can manage every aspect of a project, from design and planning through to furniture, windows, cabinets, and finishing. We also provide discreet, high-security services for private clients who value safety and privacy.”
At the Ecobank Expo, the company’s luxury furniture arm, AFP, drew significant attention with its bespoke office and home furniture collections. Chief Olusegun Ogundero, Managing Director of Temolat Ventures, one of AFP’s partners, described the display as “a standout highlight of the exhibition.”
Both expos attracted industry leaders, investors, and professionals from across Nigeria and beyond. Visitors to Julius Berger’s stands were treated to virtual walkthroughs of landmark projects, live demonstrations of smart building technologies, and interactive discussions with representatives.
Head of Strategic Business Development, Felipe Lopes, said:
“We are proud to be part of these expos, not just to showcase our work but to engage with the future of construction and design. Our subsidiaries are expanding our capacity, and we’re excited to share that with stakeholders.”
The events, widely regarded as Nigeria’s largest gathering of construction professionals, hosted hundreds of exhibitors and large numbers of attendees. Among the visitors to Julius Berger’s stands were Bolaji Lawal, Managing Director of Ecobank; Omotayo Fani, Chairman of oil services firm AOS Orwell; Mustapha Olorunibe, Managing Director of Miele; and Omoboye Odu, Ecobank’s Head of SMEs, Partnerships and Collaboration.
Together, the expositions reinforced Julius Berger’s reputation as a one-stop powerhouse for engineering, construction, and design solutions.
