NAF Chief moves to strengthen operations, pledges strict implementation of Presidential security directives
The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has vowed to intensify operational efficiency and enhance professionalism across all NAF units. He made the pledge during his first strategic meeting with Branch Chiefs and Air Officers Commanding, held at the NAF Headquarters in Abuja on 6 November 2025.
Speaking at the session, Air Marshal Aneke said the Air Force is at a crucial stage where its actions directly influence national security and public confidence. He noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given clear directives regarding security operations, and the NAF will implement them fully.
“The expectations of Nigerians depend partly on how we carry out our duties. There will be no hesitation or confusion. This is a time for decisive action,” he said.
The Air Chief highlighted that his leadership approach will focus on professionalism, discipline, and effective deployment of resources. He explained that operations and safety will form the core priorities, supported by improved logistics, technology, and administration.
He added that leadership positions will be assigned strictly based on competence to ensure that the right personnel handle key responsibilities.
During the meeting, senior officers held detailed discussions aimed at refining operational strategies and tackling security challenges. The CAS encouraged open dialogue, stressing that the outcome of the meeting would translate into measurable improvements in the field.
Air Marshal Aneke also assured Nigerians that the Air Force will continue to work closely with the Army, Navy, and other security agencies to combat terrorism and other threats. He further emphasized the importance of protecting civilians and strengthening civil-military relations.
He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his support and pledged that the Nigerian Air Force will remain committed to contributing to a safer and more secure nation.
