Nigeria’s Dr. Ademola elected as 1st Vice President of west African Rugby union
At a major gathering in Abidjan, Dr. Ademola Are, President of the Nigeria Rugby Football Federation, was elected as the First Vice President of the Union of West African Rugby Federations.
The event brought together rugby union presidents from various West African nations, including Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Burkina Faso, Benin, Togo, Ghana, Niger Republic, and Senegal.

The meeting represented a significant step forward in advancing sub-regional sports diplomacy, fostering international cooperation, expanding competitions, and driving the growth of rugby across West Africa.
The election results saw Lucas Gnogbo Kore, President of Côte d’Ivoire Rugby, emerge as the Union’s new President, while Dr. Ademola Are secured the position of 1st Vice President.
