The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, led by Chairman Comrade Grace Ike, on Tuesday visited the management of Bullageon Energy Limited in Abuja.

Bullageon Energy Limited supplies, installs, maintains and supports high-quality solar power systems for homes, businesses and industries.

The NUJ delegation was received by Bullageon’s chief executive officer, Engr. John Audu Adeniyi, who was represented at the meeting by Chris‑Lyon Mezie.

Chairman Grace Ike commended Bullageon Energy for its prompt response to the NUJ’s request for a strategic interface and for its willingness to explore collaboration.

She outlined two major areas for partnership under the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR): capacity building for journalists particularly those covering the energy sector to increase their understanding of renewable energy and climate change; and provision of renewable power for the NUJ Council’s secretariat.

“Our visit today is aimed at strengthening mutual understanding and exploring areas of collaboration between Bullageon Energy Limited and the NUJ FCT Council.

We believe there are many meaningful ways both institutions can work together for the public good,” she said.

“These areas include media partnership and publicity support for your projects, coverage of your CSR initiatives, public enlightenment campaigns on renewable energy and sustainability, and capacity building for journalists on energy reporting, environmental awareness and digital communication.”

Comrade Ike added: “We also hope for support in journalists’ welfare and professional development, including health outreach, training and other empowerment initiatives that can improve working conditions for media practitioners in the FCT.”
She made a formal appeal for assistance in providing renewable energy solutions for the NUJ FCT facilities.

“Reliable power is essential for the smooth running of our council’s activities, meetings and administrative work.

At the moment the NUJ FCT does not have this facility, and we would be sincerely grateful if Bullageon Energy Limited could consider donating or supporting a solar power solution for our council. Such a gesture would greatly ease our operational challenges and be a lasting contribution to the welfare and efficiency of journalists in the FCT.”

“We believe this support would be both impactful and symbolic of your company’s commitment to community development and social responsibility.

The NUJ FCT Council, in return, is ready to partner with you in promoting your programmes, projecting your achievements and strengthening public awareness of your contributions to national progress.”

Chris‑Lyon Mezie, representing Bullageon Energy’s CEO, thanked the NUJ FCT leadership and expressed the company’s readiness to collaborate. He said Bullageon would visit the NUJ FCT secretariat for an assessment to guide its support in providing renewable energy for the council.
