PDP issues expulsion certificates to Wike, Fayose, 9 other chieftains
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday issued expulsion certificates to 11 party chieftains, including the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike.
The action followed the party’s earlier announcement on November 15 suspending Wike, former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose; former National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu; former National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature; former National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade, and former federal lawmaker, Mao Ohuabunwa.
Others expelled are former Imo State PDP Chairman, Austine Nwachukwu; former Abia State PDP Chairman, Amah Nnanna Abraham; former National Vice-Chairman (South-South), Dan Orbih; and Turnah George.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja, the Kabiru Turaki-led National Working Committee (NWC) said the party is committed to enforcing discipline as part of its effort to rebuild and reposition the opposition platform.
