Piastri clinches victory in Miami as McLaren secure One-Two finish
Oscar Piastri extended his lead at the top of the World Championship standings with a superb victory at the Miami Grand Prix, as Lando Norris battled back to claim second place, securing a one-two finish for McLaren.
Starting from fourth on the grid, Piastri delivered a flawless performance to clinch his third consecutive Grand Prix win. The Australian overtook pole-sitter Max Verstappen after an intense early duel and maintained control of the race from that point onwards.
Norris, who began on the front row, dropped to sixth following a first-lap incident involving Verstappen. However, the British driver mounted an impressive recovery, steadily climbing through the field to secure a well-earned second place.
Piastri’s victory, his fourth in six races this season, puts him 16 points clear of Norris in the Drivers’ Championship. This comes after Saturday’s Sprint race, where he had finished behind his team-mate.
