Police confirm release of remaining abducted St. Mary’s Catholic School students in Niger
The Niger State Police Command has confirmed the release of the remaining abducted students of St. Mary’s Catholic School, Papiri, in Niger State.
In a statement issued on Saturday, December 21, 2025, the command said a total of 130 victims, including students and staff of the school, have now regained their freedom.
The police noted that the latest release marks the freedom of the final batch of victims following the abduction incident at the Catholic school in Papiri community.
According to the command, further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the release will be communicated to the public in due course.
The statement was signed by SP Wasiu Abiodun, Police Public Relations Officer, Niger State Police Command.
The development has brought relief to families, school authorities and residents of the area, following days of anxiety over the safety of the abducted students and staff.
