Ramadan: FCT Minister Wike encourages Muslims to seek divine intervention for National Unity
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has urged Muslims across the country to use the Ramadan fasting period to pray for Nigeria’s peace and unity while embracing Islamic teachings.
In a statement issued on Saturday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Barr Wike emphasized that Ramadan should go beyond abstaining from food and drink, stressing that it is a time for spiritual reflection and national intercession.
He called on Muslim faithful, particularly those in the FCT, to seek guidance from the Tafsir (interpretation) of the Holy Month of Ramadan and allow its teachings to influence their actions.
The Minister congratulated Muslims on the commencement of the 30-day fasting period and expressed hope that they would successfully complete it. He wished them a Ramadan filled with joy and togetherness, praying that their acts of worship would be accepted by Allah (SWT).
