Ibas made this known on Thursday during a visit by a delegation of the Rivers State National Assembly caucus, led by Senator Barinada Mpigi, at Government House in Port Harcourt. He explained that following the Supreme Court’s decision on the state’s budget, the government has moved quickly to draft a new appropriation bill that underscores its commitment to social services and economic development.

Ibas shared that from the moment he assumed office, his focus has been on restoring law and order. With the support of security agencies, he emphasized that the state now provides an environment where citizens feel valued and secure.

He stated, “In addition to our peace-building efforts, we are also focused on the economic stability and development of Rivers State. Since the Supreme Court verdict on the state’s budget, we have acted swiftly to put together a new budget that reflects our commitment to healthcare, education, social services, and continued infrastructural development.”

The sole administrator assured that the budget process is transparent, inclusive, and being expedited. He added, “Our goal is to ensure that we do not lose any more time in making the necessary investments that will improve the lives of citizens.”

The 2025 budget, which is nearing finalization, will prioritize job creation and investments in critical sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, and technology. Ibas reiterated the urgency of these initiatives and expressed his commitment to implementing them without delay.

He also called for the support of the state’s National Assembly representatives, emphasizing their crucial role in ensuring Rivers remains on a path of progress and peace.

Ibas further discussed the challenges faced by Rivers, including the state of emergency declared by President Bola Tinubu, and the government’s approach to restoring peace. He highlighted the importance of dialogue, community engagement, and reconciliation in rebuilding trust among the people.

“The people of Rivers State have shown incredible resilience and patience in our efforts to restore peace and respect for the law. My administration remains committed to achieving enduring peace for the state,” he added.

The Sole Administrator concluded by stressing that community engagement, reconciliation, and inclusivity are central to his administration’s strategy. He expressed confidence that these efforts will foster unity and create an environment where every citizen feels valued and respected.
