Sean Dyche named as Nottingham Forest new Head Coach

Nottingham Forest have appointed Sean Dyche as their new head coach on a contract running until 2027, the Premier League club confirmed on Tuesday.
The 54-year-old, who previously managed Burnley and Everton, takes over from Ange Postecoglou, who was sacked on Saturday after just 40 days in charge at the City Ground. Dyche, who began his playing career as a Forest trainee under the legendary Brian Clough, becomes the club’s third manager this season.
Before Dyche’s appointment, former Manchester City and Italy manager Roberto Mancini was reportedly in talks for the job, while Fulham boss Marco Silva was also linked to the position.
In an official statement, the club said: “A respected and experienced Premier League manager, Dyche brings the perfect blend of character, tactical acumen and proven achievement to guide the club through its next chapter.”
Dyche’s first assignment will be Thursday’s Europa League clash against Porto at home, followed by a Premier League fixture away to Bournemouth on Sunday. His backroom team will feature two former Forest players, Ian Woan and Steve Stone.
Postecoglou was dismissed shortly after Forest’s 3-0 defeat to Chelsea, making him the shortest-serving permanent manager in Premier League history. Owner Evangelos Marinakis reportedly lost patience after the team failed to win any of their first eight matches.
The Australian had replaced Nuno Espirito Santo, who was sacked in September after a fallout with Marinakis.
Forest currently sit in the Premier League relegation zone with just five points from eight games, despite spending over £100 million ($134 million) on new signings during the summer transfer window.
