Tinubu celebrates T.Y. Danjuma at 87, describes him as a Patriot and National Icon

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated elder statesman and former Chief of Army Staff, General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma (rtd), on the occasion of his 87th birthday, praising him as a distinguished patriot and a gentleman of honour.

In a statement released on Tuesday, President Tinubu described Danjuma as a man whose contributions to Nigeria’s unity, security, and development remain invaluable. He noted that the retired general has demonstrated unwavering commitment to nation-building through his military service, philanthropy, and support for democratic institutions.

Tinubu commended Danjuma’s decades of sacrifice and leadership, highlighting his role in strengthening the nation’s armed forces and fostering peace across different parts of the country.
