Tinubu has revived 90% of abandoned projects in South-East – Umahi

The Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, has called on the people of the South-East to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, in order to ensure the completion of the development strides already underway in the region.
In a statement released on Friday, Senator Umahi highlighted the significant infrastructural interventions being undertaken by the Tinubu-led administration, particularly in the South-East.
He disclosed that President Tinubu has four legacy projects cutting across the six geopolitical zones, with the South-East prominently featured in the third legacy project: the Cross River–Ebonyi–Benue–Kogi–Nasarawa–Abuja corridor. This project spans 465 kilometres and is valued at ₦445.8 billion.
According to the minister, 90 percent of previously abandoned projects in the region – some dating as far back as 2013 – have been revived under President Tinubu’s administration.
He also listed other key infrastructure projects that have been completed or are ongoing in the South-East. These include the Second Niger Bridge access roads: Section 2A in Delta State, valued at ₦146 billion, and Section 2B in Anambra State, valued at ₦176 billion, as well as the Enugu–Onitsha Expressway, a 208-kilometre stretch valued at ₦202 billion.
Senator Umahi urged South-East leaders to sensitise the people on the equitable distribution of development projects across Nigeria, stressing that the zone has not been left out.
He condemned the false narratives being spread on social media, which he described as attempts to discredit President Tinubu’s efforts in the region.
“No amount of blackmail or misleading information will deceive the people. The President’s good works are visible and speak for themselves,” he said.
The Minister appealed for an end to divisive politics, urging Nigerians to embrace peace and unity in the interest of national development.
