Tinubu To Join World Leaders At UAE Sustainability Summit

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to leave Abuja on Saturday, January 11, to attend the 2025 edition of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW).

This was made known in a press statement issued by Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the president’s special adviser on information and strategy.

The summit, which will take place from January 12 to 18 in the United Arab Emirates, is being hosted by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. The event will convene global leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to explore innovative approaches to accelerating sustainable development and promoting socioeconomic progress.

The theme ‘The Nexus of Next: Supercharging Sustainable Progress’, ADSW 2025, aims to identify actionable pathways towards building a sustainable global economy and ushering in a new era of shared prosperity. Now in its 15th year, the Summit has gained a reputation as a premier platform for fostering multi-stakeholder cooperation to address pressing global challenges.

Throughout its history, ADSW has facilitated numerous high-value agreements and strategic partnerships between governments, industry leaders, and innovators in clean energy, significantly advancing the global sustainability agenda.

President Tinubu will use the opportunity to highlight his administration’s reform efforts, focusing on energy sufficiency, transportation, public health, and economic development. He will also hold bilateral discussions with the UAE leadership to strengthen ties and address mutual interests.

The president’s trip is accompanied by the minister of foreign affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and other senior government officials.

The President is expected to return to Nigeria on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
