Wale Edun unveils Nigeria’s energy investment opportunities at SEforALL Forum

As the world grapples with the challenges of limited energy access, Nigeria is poised to unlock its vast energy potential and become a major player in the global energy market.
Speaking at the Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) Forum in Bridgetown, Barbados where he joined other world leaders, Nigeria’s Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Wale Edun, called on global investors to partner with the government in unlocking the country’s energy potential.
At the very high level gathering, which is focused on advancing global energy,
HM Edun emphasized the need for strategic investment and greater private sector participation to achieve universal energy access.
The Minister highlighted that the government alone cannot fund the country’s energy needs. Our reforms are designed to unlock private investment, improve market dynamics, and accelerate the transition to cost-reflective tariffs, he stated.
Nigeria is a key beneficiary of Mission 300, a World Bank and African Development Bank initiative aimed at providing electricity to 300 million Africans. The country is leveraging this initiative to expand renewable energy infrastructure and improve access to underserved communities.
Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, also attended the forum, reinforcing the country’s commitment to energy sector reforms.
The SEforALL Forum brought together policymakers, development partners, and energy experts to drive solutions for a just and inclusive energy transition.
As Nigeria stands at the threshold of an energy revolution, HM Edun’s call to action signals a new era of unprecedented growth, innovation, and prosperity for the nation, setting the stage for Nigeria to emerge as a beacon of hope for energy sustainability in Africa.
