Stop spreading false UK arrest stories – 2Baba begs Fans

Nigerian music legend Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has dismissed viral rumours that he was arrested in the United Kingdom after an alleged altercation with his wife, Natasha Osawaru.
The speculation, which spread on Thursday, was fuelled by gossip blogger Tosin Silverdam, who claimed the singer had been apprehended by UK police after a heated argument that allegedly turned violent. The rumour further suggested that his UK tour, billed to kick off in London on October 2, had been abruptly cancelled.
However, 2Baba, in a video statement shared on Instagram on Friday, clarified that the postponement of his tour had nothing to do with any arrest or marital dispute but was due to a medical emergency.
“First of all, I want to appreciate everybody that came out. We had a medical emergency. It was tough, shey you understand?” the singer explained in Pidgin English. He assured fans and organizers that the shows would be rescheduled, adding, “To the show organizers, and everybody that came out, we go re-book.”
Appealing to the public to avoid spreading baseless gossip, 2Baba said: “And please, if you know sabi something, make una no talk I beg.”
2Baba and his wife, Natasha, an Edo State lawmaker, arrived in the UK on October 2, the same day the tour was to commence. The Afrobeats star had announced the tour on August 26.
Their relationship became public in January after 2Baba confirmed his separation from actress Annie Macaulay Idibia. He later proposed to Natasha in February, and by April, she had received his family’s approval after visiting his mother, Rose, who had initially opposed the union. The couple tied the knot in July.
