Super Eagles begin training in Polokwane as Fredrick joins squad
Young defender Benjamin Fredrick has joined the Super Eagles camp in Polokwane, South Africa, ahead of Nigeria’s Group C 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin Republic.
Team media officer Promise Efoghe confirmed Fredrick’s arrival, which brings the total number of players in camp to 18 for the upcoming double-header.
The Super Eagles held their first training session on Tuesday as preparations intensified for Friday’s crucial clash against Lesotho.
With two matches left in the qualifiers, Nigeria currently sit third in Group C with 11 points, trailing Benin Republic and South Africa, who occupy the top two spots with 14 points each.
