Flight schedule cuts begin in U.S. Airports due to worker shortage
The United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced that it will reduce flight operations at about 40 major airports because of staff shortages linked to the ongoing government shutdown.
This means thousands of flights may be delayed or cancelled every day for now.
Airlines have been told to adjust their schedules while some passengers may need to rebook their travel plans.
Experts say the reduction could also affect international travel, including connecting flights to Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
The FAA said normal flight levels will return once adequate staff are back on duty and the shutdown is resolved. Travelers are advised to check flight status before going to the airport
