Anambra Police Commissioner commends security collaboration, calls for sustained partnership
The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Ikioye Orutugu, has commended security agencies and residents for their cooperation in maintaining peace and security in the state, urging stakeholders to sustain the collaboration to further improve public safety.
Orutugu gave the commendation in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, following recent security operations and engagements across the state. He praised sister security agencies for their coordinated efforts, describing inter-agency cooperation as critical to the successes recorded in crime prevention and law enforcement.
The police commissioner also acknowledged the support of community leaders, youths and residents, noting that timely information sharing and cooperation with security operatives have contributed to relative calm in many parts of Anambra.
According to Orutugu, security challenges cannot be tackled by law enforcement alone, stressing that effective policing depends on trust, partnership and active participation from the public. He urged residents to continue to report suspicious movements and criminal activities to security agencies.
He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property and assured the public that the police would continue to work with other agencies to sustain peace and order in the state.
The Anambra Police Command said it would intensify patrols and intelligence-led operations while strengthening its relationship with communities as part of broader efforts to improve security across the state.
