APC receives newly elected FCT Council Chairmen after electoral sweep
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally received the newly elected chairmen of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Councils following the weekend elections.
The reception was attended by the party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, the Chairman of the APC National Campaign Council, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and other senior party leaders.
DAILY POST reports that the APC secured victories in five of the six councils, including the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Abaji, Kuje, Bwari, and Kwali, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won only Gwagwalada. The African Democratic Congress (ADC), home to several opposition leaders, failed to clinch any council positions.
In a post on its official X handle on Monday, the APC confirmed that the newly elected chairmen were received by the party’s leadership, including members of the National Working Committee (NWC), in recognition of their victory and alignment with the party’s agenda.
The party hailed the outcome of the elections as a testament to its continued popularity in the FCT and pledged support to the council chairmen in delivering democratic dividends to residents.
