Tinubu orders security Chiefs to relocate to Maiduguri, pledges total victory over terrorists

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed top security officials to relocate to Maiduguri, Borno State, to take charge of the escalating security situation following recent terrorist attacks.

In a statement released on Tuesday in Abuja, the president described the incidents in Maiduguri as “profoundly upsetting,” mourning those who lost their lives and extending sympathies to the injured. He assured residents of the Federal Government’s full support during this challenging period.

Tinubu said the attacks represented “the final desperate and frantic attempts by criminals and terrorist elements trying to instil and spread fear,” stressing that such groups are under relentless pressure from Nigeria’s armed forces and security agencies.

He commended the bravery of military personnel and civilian task forces for successfully repelling coordinated attacks on military positions, noting: “The Monday attacks were desperate acts of the evil-minded terrorist groups. Our gallant forces will curtail and put them down.”

Recalling a security meeting over the weekend, Tinubu stated that he had approved additional equipment and operational support for security agencies, a process that is “already in progress.” He further instructed emergency agencies to provide proper care for those injured in the attacks.

“There is no place in Nigeria where terrorists will find safety. We will locate them, confront them, and completely defeat them. Nigeria will not succumb to fear,” the president declared.
