Tight security as Plateau Govt arraigns suspects over Jos killings
Tight security was observed on Thursday at the Plateau State High Court as the state government arraigned four suspects in connection with the deadly March 2026 attack on Angwan Rukuba community in Jos North Local Government Area.
The suspects, who were arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) between April 3 and April 10, were brought before the court under heavy security presence aimed at preventing any breakdown of law and order.
Court premises and surrounding areas were fortified with security operatives, while movement was closely monitored as proceedings commenced.
The defendants arrived at the Plateau State High Court of Justice at about 9:20 a.m., under tight escort.
The Plateau State Government has filed charges bordering on criminal conspiracy to commit terrorism and other related offences against the suspects, identified as Isa Umar Ibrahim, Auwalu Abubakar, also known as Auwalu Dogo, and Musa Abubakar Ibrahim, alias Yaroro.
The arraignment marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts by authorities to bring those responsible for the attack to justice.
Further details of the proceedings are expected as the case unfolds.
