In a statement issued on Monday in Abuja, the Council described the appointment as well-deserved, noting that Attah’s professional background and experience in journalism make him suitably qualified for the role.

Before his appointment, Attah served as Head of News at Independent Television, where he was credited with demonstrating strong leadership, editorial competence and commitment to journalistic standards.

It urged him to maintain high ethical standards in journalism while contributing to national development through transparent communication between the ministry and the public.

The statement was signed by the Chairman of the NUJ FCT Council, Grace Ike, who wished Attah success in his new role.
